About

It all started as an idea to keep in touch.

Simple really.

Four high school friends. One joint writing space.

Add in complementary interests and distinctive writing styles and you've got yourself one of the greatest college how-to survival guides on the planet.

Our goals for this blog are as follows:

1. To keep in touch with each other and all the craziness that comes with college life.

It's hard to keep updated when there's constantly something that needs doing-- homework, studying for midterms, writing papers, studying for finals, figuring out how to make dinner without setting the apartment on fire... You know, the usual.

After spending four years seeing each other five days a week for six and a half hours a day, going cold turkey is kind of hard. Living on different campuses and in different time zones can be kind of a big deal as well. This blog is our way of staying up to date with each others' lives.

2. To keep those who know us caught up with what's going on in our lives.

When you have almost every class together and hang out with the same crowd, you're bound to have overlapping circles of friends. With that in mind, what better way to keep in touch with them all than by having one spot where they can go to catch up with four of us? Convenient and efficient, no?

3. To be a how-to survival guide for all those younger siblings/incoming freshies we know.

In just a few months, three out of four of the writers for We Are The Bestest will have younger siblings in their early years of college. Could there be a more perfect time to start sharing stories of all the things we've learned in college {and how we've learned them} than right now?

We think not.

We hope that our mistakes, disasters, experimentations {gone right and gone wrong}, lessons learned, successful triumphs, previous experience, and advice can save them some time and give them some guidance to follow as they figure out this thing called "college".

Live and learn, right? Well, we're going to try to live and learn and teach. Because, as they say, you don't truly understand something until you can teach it to someone else.

Some things you should know right away:

+ Deborah and Michaela can cook. Really well. Steven and Samantha aren't... as good...

+ Three out of four of us are supernerdy and take it as a compliment. Number Four just raises eyebrows when Lord of the Rings genealogies are being quoted or chemistry jokes are being made.

What. Who are you people. *shakes head*

+ One of us is daaating. And you can bet your cookies the other three are doing a lot of teasing and wiggly eyebrows.

*wagglewaggle*

+ We're really awesome. You should get to know us. Cause we think you're awesome, too. *nods*
